What people ask before they book the visit

How long will I be without a kitchen?

Five and a half to eight weeks on a typical replace, inside a job of eleven and a half to nineteen. The cabinets are built to order and nothing comes out until they are in our warehouse, so most of the waiting happens with your old kitchen still working.

Do I really need a contingency?

On a house older than about twenty years, yes. Something is behind the wall that the drawing did not know about. A quote without a contingency has not removed that risk; it has moved it to a change order on week five. Ours is on the plan from the start, and it comes back to you if it is not spent.

What is it actually like to live in the house through it?

Almost everybody stays. We set the fridge, the microwave and a folding counter up in the dining room or the garage on the first morning, and the water is off for about a day in total. The hard week is the one waiting for the counters, when the kitchen looks finished and has no sink.

Do you handle the permit?

Yes, and it is on the calendar as a stage rather than as an afterthought. Hillsborough County turns a kitchen permit round in one to three weeks depending on whether a wall or the plumbing moves, and the inspection is booked before the counters go on.
